New DiGi prepaid services

DIGI Telecommunications’ prepaid users will be glad to know that the company has added two new services – Talktime Extend and Talktime Advance – for their convenience.

Talktime Extend allows users to exchange airtime balance for validity – this means they can use their existing credit balance to pay for the one-month reload fee in order to continue making outgoing calls, instead of forking out additional RM30 from their pocket.

The catch is, users must have a minimum RM95 balance in their prepaid account. Once subscribed, DiGi will deduct RM35 (including a RM5 service fee) and that will leave customers with a RM60 credit limit to make calls.

It is targeted at customers with low usage patterns, and who would rather exhaust their current balance to extend the validity period, said Albern Murty, head of product management at Digi.

Meanwhile, customers who are running out of airtime credit can make use of the Talktime Advance service where DiGi will “loan” users RM3 credit which is valid for two days so that they can continue making calls.

After the two day period expires, users will need to top up their account and RM3.50 (including the 50 sen service charge) will be deducted from their reload amount.

The service is only available to subscribers with tenure of six months or more, and with credit balance of less than RM2.

It is being offered on a promotional basis for two months, and will be offered again when “the need arises,” such as during festive seasons, Albern said.

Both services are accessible via a dialling *128# on their mobile phone. – ZAM KARIM
